Arrow puts Brendan Nelson in the driving seat

Nelson to help launch Arrow’s X1E-CIK

Brendan Nelson will campaign the new Arrow X1E-CIK in 2011

Acclaimed Australian kart brand Arrow has put 19-year-old Brendan Nelson in the seat for 2011.

Arrow has recognised the opportunity to secure the talented Nelson to herald a new era for the brand and to act as ambassador in launching the highly anticipated X1E, the latest Arrow chassis developed specifically for the Australian CIK / Rotax / Leopard market.

Queensland-based Nelson will represent Arrow and premium Arrow retailer Kaos Karting, and compete at the highest level around Australia in CIK Stars of Karting series, Rotax Pro Tour, state and national events.

“Brendan has an impressive track record, driving skill, focus to succeed and together we will make a great team,” said Drew Price, managing director of Arrow Racing Karts.

A consistent and versatile performer in the kart, Nelson and his team plan to build on past success which includes wins last year in Rotax Heavy at NSW State Titles, Queensland Closed Titles and Pro Tour Newcastle, winning the Supercheap series, Queensland Closed Titles and the Southern Star series in Clubman, 3rd place at the Nationals and Vic Open in Leopard.

In 2011 Brendan will take to the track for Arrow in Pro Gearbox (KZ2) for the CIK Stars of Karting series as well as continuing to campaign in Rotax Heavy and Clubman Heavy.

Brendan will also be continuing his very successful association with Col Watts’ Raceprep Team for the Rotax events. They go into 2011 leading the Pro Tour points after having won both Rotax point score meetings so far.

Nelson is excited by the opportunity to join forces with Arrow and forge a long-lasting relationship with its team with support provided by Darren Hossack, Shane Price and Adam Klunyk.

“Since my first days on track from the age of 11, I have hoped to one day secure a factory drive. I am really excited by the prospect of reaching that goal with Australia’s number one race team, Arrow,” said Nelson.

Nelson will debut at the upcoming round 1 of Rotax Pro Tour at Todd Road at the end of January after taking delivery of one of the very first X1E chassis’ available, hot off the production line.
