It is with great sadness that Karting Australia acknowledges the passing of Australian Karting Association Life Member Bob Edyvean, who passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3.
Bob’s contribution to karting in Australia was significant and enduring. A former Ipswich Kart Club President, Karting Queensland President, AKA Vice President and AKA Chief Executive Officer, Bob gave decades of service to the sport at club, state and national level.
He was also the driving force behind Ipswich Kart Club’s move to Willowbank, helping establish a venue that has become one of the most important karting facilities in Australia.
Bob’s passion, leadership and commitment to karting will be remembered by many, and his legacy will continue through the countless competitors, officials and families who have benefited from his work.

Bob’s funeral service will be held on Monday, 13 July 2026, commencing at 1:00pm, at Warrill View Lawn Cemetery, Ipswich.
