This expanded three-day program combined an Officials Development Day on Friday ahead of two days of the Building Better Kart Clubs Conference across the weekend, delivering a significant amount of content, number of expert presenters, and great practical learning opportunities for officials and club representatives.
During the Officials Development Day on Friday, a live stewards hearing demonstration and practical officiating workshops will further build confidence and understanding around race management, technical, and safety standards.
Across the weekend, delegates will engage in targeted sessions led by a range of highly respected motorsport and club development experts, covering leadership, governance, inclusion, engagement, and sustainable growth. These sessions ensure attendees benefit from clear direction on Karting Australia’s objectives, supported by practical advice and real-world insights.
The conference theme, Shaping Karting Success, will be highlighted through keynote presentations from Garth Tander and insights from leaders such as Michael Masi and Samantha Reid, blending elite motorsport experience with grassroots club development. Delegates will take part in discussions, panels, and workshops focused on strengthening leadership capability and building stronger club structures. A strong emphasis will be placed on developing people, volunteers, and officials to reinforce the foundation of the sport at club level.
BBKC26 also looks to the future, with interactive sessions on AI, volunteer development, and nurturing emerging leaders. Dedicated sessions on council collaboration, grant opportunities, and the Girls Race Too program will provide practical strategies to grow participation and embed inclusion across all areas of the sport.
