The FIA Karting Academy Trophy is a unique, world-class formula designed to identify and develop young driving talent, with all competitors racing on identical equipment.

Traditionally reserved for Junior competitors, the Academy Trophy expanded in 2025 to include the FIA Karting Academy Trophy – Senior, which was successfully contested for the first time. In 2026, the Academy Trophy – Junior is open to drivers born in 2012, 2013 or 2014, while the Academy Trophy – Senior provides the opportunity for drivers born in 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012 to represent their country on the international stage.

Australia will have a representative in both the Junior and Senior Academy Trophies. Drivers who have scored at least one point in an FIA Karting European Championship event, or who have been ranked within the top 15 of an Intermediate Classification, Final Intermediate Classification, or the Final of the FIA Karting World Championship in the previous and/or current year, are not eligible to participate in the Trophy.
