ULTIMATE CLUB RACERS CROWNED IN GRIFFITH

The Ultimate Club Racers for 2025 were crowned at the Griffith Kart Club on Sunday, following the fifth running of the Ultimate Club Racer event.

Designed for the grassroots racer, the Ultimate Club Racer brings together competitors from a wide range of categories. With the event carrying National Cup status, it represents the highest level of competition for many drivers – particularly those in the 4SS classes.

Alongside the hard fought battles on-track, the event is also renowned for its friendly and social atmosphere, highlighted by Saturday evening’s dinner and prize presentation. Thanks to the generous support of SP Tools, Maxxis Kart Tyres, LeCont Tyres and St George Kart Centre, thousands of dollars in prizes were once again shared among competitors.

On track, the focus was on who would earn the right to display the coveted silver plate for the next 12 months.

With the Cadet 9 and Cadet 12 classes combined on the circuit, the young drivers put on an entertaining show before South Australian Logan Bridge claimed victory in Cadet 12, while Alfi Lucchetti took top honours in Cadet 9.

In the junior ranks, Oskar Hennock crossed the line first in KA3 Junior Light, while Cooper House and Zade Sturgesswere victorious in KA3 Junior Heavy and 4SS Junior Heavy respectively.

Two of the largest fields of the weekend – 4SS Senior Medium and 4SS Senior Heavy – delivered a South Australian double. Dan Virgo triumphed ahead of Luke Smith and Chris Skinner in Medium, while Aidan Grigg took the win in Heavy over James Place and 2024 winner Andrew Hall.

Other winners included Joshua Hart (TaG 125 Light), Matthew Chaston (TaG 125 Restricted Light), Georgie Yeadon (4SS Senior Light), Tony Cowan (4SS Supermaxx Heavy), Jason Coughran (4SS Supermaxx Medium), Joseph Belardo (KA3 Senior Light), Jamie Prendergast (TaG 125 Restricted Heavy) and Trev Whitby (TaG 125 Restricted Medium).

Karting Australia extends a special thanks to Sam Belardo and his team at the Griffith Kart Club for their assistance in hosting the event along with the support of the event and venue by the Griffith City Council.
