The SP Tools Australian Kart Championship, presented by Castrol will come to a thrilling conclusion in Coffs Harbour tomorrow with three Championships to be decided after an exhilarating Saturday that saw four categories crown Champions elect.
The big story related to the defending two-time consecutive Australian Champions, Harrison Hoey and Sam Dicker with two vastly different tales.
Hoey’s chance at becoming the first three time and consecutive TaG 125 Champion since Brendan Nelson (2016-2018) was extinguished through being the innocent bystander in a lap one incident in his final heat of the day. The collision saw him exit the race with missing bodywork. This meant that Jackson Souslin-Harlow, after being in the Championship top three over the last few years, will finally claim his first Australian Kart Championship.
Dicker on the other hand has taken what was a disastrous start to his Championship at round one to grab the Championship lead over Dylan Guest. The tide began turning for Dicker with his win at the previous round and Guest striking trouble.
Today, Dicker was undefeated in his three outings and not only took the Championship lead, but open it to 20 points with Guest not finishing the last race of the day.
If he can score six points more than Guest tomorrow morning, Dicker will become the first driver to win three consecutive KZ2 titles.

Oliver Williamson became the first driver since Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi to win the Cadet 9 and 12 Championships in successive years. He was masterful in being able to amass the points required to be Champion-elect, out pointing Cooper Clavell.
It took just this morning’s heat for Liam Carr to secure the KA2 Junior Championship after what has been an outstanding year. He can rest easy tomorrow, backing up his Champion-elect status with a final heat race win. The battle for second is on between Hamish Campbell and Ky Burke. Just a handful of points separate the duo after Burke claimed pole position and the first two heat race wins.
Brodie Whitmore has become Champion-elect in X30. After many years in the sport, it will be his first Australian Kart Championship after a start to the season that saw a devastating post-race penalty at round one after crossing the start line first due to a restart infringement.
Three Championships remain up for grabs on Grand Final day.
Braxton Regan holds a commanding lead in KA3 Junior heading into tomorrow’s finals day. Paddy Buckley is the only other driver that can challenge Regan, however with Regan having a better day than Buckley, it will take results to go Buckley’s way to win his second Australian Title.

In KA3 Senior, Christian Estasy has extended his Championship lead over Zac Heard with a solid showing from Will Thompson – including a heat win – keeping him in the top three and a slender Championship shot.
Milan Sami was able to salvage some top results in Cadet 9 after being caught out by a wet qualifying this morning – seeing him start the first two heats 13th. Having wrapped the Championship last round, the Victorian started the third heat from pole position.
Tomorrow, action begins at 8am with the continuation of heats before the finals. All of the action will be broadcast live and free from 11:30am on the 7plus App or online at https://7plus.com.au/australian-kart-championship.
