Home track advantage counted for Bendigo Kart Club drivers when round two of the Golden Power Series came to the Marong Raceway at the weekend.
About 200 entrants put the pedal to the metal and five Bendigo club members raced to podium finishes.
Corey Arnett performed the best of the locals by taking the chequered flag in the rookie class at the 490m circuit.
Emma Dorrington continued her brilliant form, placing second in the Sportsman Restricted Light category.
Dorrington finished one spot ahead of fellow Bendigo driver Kim McCarthy, for her second consecutive podium in the five-round series.
The Strathfieldsaye flyer was third last round in Gippsland.
In the Sportsman Restricted Heavy class, Trent Sim powered his way to second place, and Alex McIvor was also runner-up in the Tag Heavy Class. About 25 local drivers took part across the 15 divisions, and Bendigo Kart Club president Craig Arnett hailed the weekend a success.
“It was very successful,” he said.
“We had a great turnout and the weather just held off for us.
“It all went very well.”
The next fast and furious round of the series will be raced in Rochester on June 22 and 23.
The Bendigo Kart Club holds its meetings on the last Sunday of every month.
