2019 AKC REGULATIONS PUBLISHED

The Championship Regulations for the 2019 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE have been published.

In 2019, the Championship will consist of 8 Championship classes – KZ2, KA2, X30, TaG 125, KA3 Senior, KA4 Junior, Cadet 12 and Cadet 9.

The regulations for each class will remain identical to 2018, with the exception of TaG 125 where the MG AZ (Red) tyre will be utilized by competitors. As per the 2019 Australian Karting Manual released earlier today, there has been an adjustment of the minimum weights in the interest of parity.

In a similar method to 2018, the circuit for all events will be closed to all competitors and their equipment for a period of three weeks prior to each Round. The actual dates for each period are outlined in the Regulations and any exceptions to this will be highlighted in the Supplementary Regulations for each Round.

There will be no unofficial practice on Thursday at any of the Rounds.

The opportunity for drivers to secure their Competition Numbers has changed for 2019.

Should a Competitor pay the full Championship entry fee prior to entries closing for Round One, the Competitor shall retain the same Competition number that is allocated at Round One for all remaining Rounds. For Competitors who enter on a Round by Round basis, Competition Numbers will be issued via the requests on the Karting Australia CMS for the Round.

Entries for Round One of the 2019 Championship will open in the second week of January.

All drivers are required to complete a Registration prior to competing in a Round of the Championship, the Registration form is now available to be completed here https://www.karting.net.au/australian-kart-championship/akc-registration.
