Organisers of the CIK Stars of Karting Series presented by Castrol EDGE have today confirmed the dates and venues for the 2013 Championship.
While keeping a similar date format to what has been successful over the past two years, the 2013 edition of the series will see the elite form of karting return to two venues that have played a significant role in the sport’s history in Victoria and New South Wales.
The first of five rounds will explode into action at the Ipswich Kart Track in Queensland on February 22/23. Round two will see the series return to one of the spiritual homes of Australian CIK racing at the Lithgow circuit with a round to be hosted by the Sydney Kart Racing Club on April 27/28.
This will then be followed by the Geelong Kart Club hosting its first round of the championship since it was rejuvenated three years ago with June 15/16 slated on the schedule for the Victorian venue.
Just as has been the case in 2012, the North Shore Kart Club will then host the penultimate round at Sydney’s Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway on the final weekend in July (26/27). This will again be followed by the Grand Finale at Victoria’s Port Melbourne circuit at the home of the Go-Kart Club of Victoria on September 21/22.
Series organisers would like to thank the hard working committees of both the Southern Go-Kart Club and Newcastle Kart Racing Club for their efforts over the past few years and look forward to returning to the venues in the future.
