Reigning Pro Gearbox (KZ2) Champion Tyler Greenbury started his ‘Italian job’ with practice at the La Conca circuit ahead of this weekend’s WSK Euro Series Round at the venue.

The 19 year-old, who is being assisted this weekend by the prizemoney he won due to winning last year’s title while also supported by CRG Australia, Bolt Pro and Dunlop Kartsport, finished the opening day of practice high in confidence.

“To start with I had trouble getting my head around the speed of hitting 160 km/h at the end of the main straight and the amount of grip that’s already on the circuit,” said Greenbury.

“The rubber is literally like a but rut that you have to run the kerb to miss, the only other option is run the middle of it to run right over it.

“In the final session we made some chassis and gear adjustments which made the kart feel completely different.  These changes really seemed to suit my driving style and as the session went on I got faster and more consistent.  I finished the day only a few tenths off the pace.”

Practice will continue today ahead of qualifying on Friday followed by racing across the weekend.
