Strong field for Lake Gillear go-kart round - From the Warrnambool Standard

MORE than 150 drivers from across the south-west will converge on the Lake Gillear go-kart track this weekend for round two of the Victorian Country Series.

The two-day meeting doubles as the annual Wolf Gottlewski Memorial.

Warrnambool Kart Club president Gary Shiells said 152 drivers across 15 classes had nominated for the meeting, although the figure could increase.

The field includes 18 Warrnambool drivers. Kart clubs at Portland, Hamilton, Horsham, Ballarat and Cobden will also be represented.

“As a club we’re one of the best-performing for getting members, except for the Melbourne clubs,” Shiells said.

Practice is today while racing starts tomorrow.
