STATEMENT: ROD KRETZSCHMAR

It is with sadness that Karting Australia acknowledges the passing of one of its founding members Rod Kretzschmar.

Rod passed away on Wednesday February 24, he was aged 86.

Rod was victorious at the inaugural Australian Championship event in 1963 event held in Seymour, Victoria. He then won the 125cc Mens Championship again in 1965 before claiming the 200cc title in 1967.

Karting Australia on behalf of the entire karting community offers its condolences to the Kretschmar family and friends.
