Reigning Australian Karter of the Year David Sera is preparing for the biggest race on his 2010 calendar, where he will take on the World’s best at the prestigious SuperNats XIV in Las Vegas, Nevada on the 20th and 21st of November. It will be the second year in a row that the young Melbournian has made the trip across to ‘Sin City’ where he will be competing under the newly formed Kartsport North America banner.

After some disappointment with an opening lap incident in the main event last year, Sera is out for revenge and is biting at the bit to get back over and race at the custom built street circuit located in the Rio All Suites Casino Complex. ‘Last year was a disappointing end after I had been inside the top three for the majority of the races, and to get taken out on the first lap of the main event was really gut wrenching.’

The factory Arrow Karts driver will be competing in two classes this year: TaG Senior and S1. It will be the first time that Sera has driven a Stock Honda six-speed motor (S1), but the motor is comparable to the KZ2 he is more accustomed to driving in Australia. ‘Hopefully the experience I have gained this year driving the KZ2 will put me in good stead for the S1 category. I will still be in the same kart that I campaigned for the 2010 season and the S1 motor also has six gears, so it shouldn’t be too hard to get my head around.’

The SuperNats have generated huge interest in the past couple of years with seven-time Formula One Champion Michael Schumacher competing at the event last year, along with other Formula One drivers Sebastien Buemi and Nelson Piquet Jnr. Also competing at the event is Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon, and NASCAR driver A.J. Allmendinger.

Sera would like to thank Arrow Karts Australia, Kartsport North America, Monster Energy Drinks, Bell Helmets and Alpinestars for their continued support. To stay up-to-date with Sera’s progress in the United States be sure to check out www.davidsera.com
