Victorian Lee Mitchener is this weekend competing in France as he aims to defend his victoy at the Bruno Grana International Trophy event.

After enjoying success in last year’s event, Mitchener excited about taking on some of the top drivers from across the globe at the Lavelant circuit in the South of France.

“I’m really excited about being back in France and defending my title,” said Mitchener.

“After winning last year it’s a good feeling to be able to come back here to compete, however, I do feel that there is more pressure on me to perform.”

Mitchener, who last week announced a new partnership with HORSPWR Clothing, will be teaming up with the Euro Karting team, who are the IAME importers for Belgium, and competing in a DR Kart fitted with front brakes.

“My mechanic is Kenny Hueber, who raced in the X-30 event last year, so he is very much in touch with what is required at this event.  The team over here have also learnt more English this year, and I’ve tried to learn a bit more French, so all should go well.”

Practice for the event, which this year features the X30 Junior category together with the X30 and X30 Gentleman, started yesterday with racing set to be held across the weekend.
