Message to lady karters from Combined Districts

Dear lady Karter,

This year being the 50th year of karting in NSW we feel it is appropriate to bring to your attention the situation that has occurred over the past few years.

In karting from the inception of the sport in the USA in 1957 and in Australia in the various championships from 1960 there were classes specifically for the girls unfortunately this fell away in Australia in the mid 1980,s.

With the success of the annual ladies special karting event which is held in January at lithgow city raceway and an increase of participation of women and girls in karting we are promoting an event specifically for the girls at our annual Clyde Marshall Race Meeting over the weekend of 23/10/2010 and24/10/2010 this year.

We invite you to participate

The Class we have chosen is Senior National Class at 140kg

The event will be run under Championship Specifications with timed qualifying and racing over both days.

Should your race licence have expired you can compete using a single event licence

Recently AKA introduced a single Event licence to cover the situation you may have, it is under rule 13.02/3. inclusive in the AKA Rule book this gives prospective participants in the ladies National who are currently unlicensed or have never been licenced the opportunity to take part in the event by competing with a single event licence The single event licence allows you to practice for several days immediately prior to the event and race at the event CDKC or your own club can issue a single event licence.

If you wish to participate with a single event licence we would appreciate if you can give us prior notice so we can order the license’s from AKA and arrange a STL and OLT for you.

The Clyde Marshall is our Major Annual event with racing over both day’s it includes not only a great race meeting but has traditionally has a great social component this years event is no different with the theme being trivia Night and dinner in the clubhouse on the Saturday night.

Participation in this event gives you the great opportunity for you to get in some pre ladies special event pre race experience. The ladies special event it is regarded as the National event for ladies only and is in support of the National breast cancer foundation.

Please don’t confuse this event in October with the ladies special event which is held in January annually they are individual events.
