MESSAGE FROM THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT

As karting enters a new era in Australia with the introduction of a skills based board of governance I would like to personally take the opportunity to thank everyone involved in the process for their dedication and commitment. This is not the end, it is simply the beginning of a new era in the administration of karting in Australia. The foundation of the new structure will lie in the knowledge base of the committees and I would urge anyone that can bring strength and experience to these to consider nominating for a position.

Back in December 2011 when I was appointed to the position of National President the following statement was released ‘The Executive have all agreed unanimously that the period until the next election in August be used to transition the AKA into a Board of Governance and this shall be the highest priority of the Executive.’ This process was achieved when the NKC accepted the following motion ‘On the 31 August 2013, or such earlier date as the Company’s Board and the AKA Inc mutually agree, the entire operations of the Australian Karting Association Inc. will be transferred to the Company, following which, the Australian Karting Association Inc. will be wound up as per Clause 43 of the Constitution for the Australian Karting Association Inc.’

The Board of AKA Ltd and AKA Inc. have worked tirelessly in the transition period and I wish them the best of success for the future of this fabulous sport that we all enjoy as either a competitor, official, volunteer, spectator, parent or administrator.

Regards,

Craig Denton
National President – Australian Karting Association Inc.
