With a string of Australia’s best drivers on their way to Albury for the first round of the new rankings season for the Rotax Pro Tour, attention is strong surrounding two of the town’s own home grown young stars, Jack Richardson and Jordan Boys as the pair look to take it to the best in the country.

Richardson is already well established in the Rotax Light category, having recorded a number of impressive results throughout the 2013 season, including a notable performance at the Jason Richards Memorial at Geelong in May. Jack is now looking to consolidate in his new Kosmic chassis and show the home crowd a strong performance.

“Geelong was our best round of the season, I was consistently in the top five and it showed what we are capable of, overall our season was a bit up and down but it will be great to get the rankings underway at my home track.”

“The new Kosmic kart has been working very well since I first got in it and I feel confident of at least a top ten or top five but the ultimate goal would be a podium,” Richardson said.

Jordan Boys made a strong impression on the series throughout the 2013 season, most notably securing round wins at both Geelong and in Gympie. Boys has since stepped up into the Rotax Light category, and as with his fellow Albury counterpart in Jack Richardson, Jordan will be looking to make his mark on the class with a string of notable current and past National Champions up against them.

“It was great to get two wins during the year and really cement my position in the series, we came very close to getting a World Finals seat but I know that from my results we have the ability to make it and it’s something I’ll be looking to achieve this year.”

“I’m hoping that I don’t picked on too much in my Senior debut, I believe a home track advantage will help this weekend, we have tested senior engine at the required weight and it has delivered some strong times so I’m looking forward to a strong event,” Boys said.

The last time the Rotax Pro Tour visited the border town was 2012 where the Jason Richards Memorial event first took place, and the track received resounding support from drivers with the event sure to provide close racing with many looking to secure first round points ahead of the remaining events through 2014.
