KARTING AUSTRALIA COMPETITION DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

The Karting Australia Board has appointed John Reynolds as Competition Director.

Reynolds has been appointed by the Board in accordance with the Constitution to fill a casual vacancy through until the next AGM.   Along with several other well-credentialed candidates he has gone through a thorough independent evaluation and interview process prior to being appointed by the Board.

“John has been involved in motorsport for more than 30 years as a competitor, administrator and official.  He is perfectly suited to the focus of Karting Australia’s Board over the coming years,” said Karting Australia Chairman Mick Doohan.

“He has seen the sport from all aspects and over the past 20 years as President of the Albury/Wodonga Kart Club has been instrumental in guiding the Club into a strong financial position.

“John’s experience allows him to have an appreciation of what the new and average club level competitor wants.  He also has a good understanding of what those who are trying to embark on a professional motor sport career need from the sport.”

Reynolds says that he is excited to be involved with Karting Australia as it advances the sport into the next decade.

“I’m excited to be involved in the new-look organisation going forward as we try to advance karting into the next decade.  It is a great opportunity to help build on the changes that have been made over the past couple of years,” said Reynolds.

“I will be looking to be a part of continual improvement at all levels, particularly at ‘grass roots’ level where I have more than two decades of experience.”

Reynolds will begin his role effective immediately.
