IKD welcomes Beast Productions as media partner of Rotax Pro Tour

IKD, the Australian distributors of Rotax and promoters of the Rotax Pro Tour, are pleased to announce the partnership with Sydney-based motorsport media business, Beast Productions for the 2012 Rotax Pro Tour season.

Experienced motorsport writer and commentator, Conor McNally, is the owner and proprietor of Beast Productions. McNally has over 13 years of experience in motorsport media, having worked predominantly as a freelance writer, commentator and PR representative throughout his career. McNally has written for a number of motorsport publications, such as Motor Racing Australia, Motorsport News and the Speedcafe Annual yearbook of 2008.

He is also an experienced on-track commentator, having worked on a state and national level at many meetings in NSW over the last decade. His highlight to date has been part of the on-track commentary team for the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour. He has also done some TV commentary work through the Speedweek program on SBS One and the NSW Motocross Championship on SPEED.

Beast Productions will handle all media related interests for the 2012 Rotax Pro Tour. They will handle all press releases sent out to all motorsport media outlets and will supply the on-course series commentary through McNally at all events. The Beast Productions team, in conjunction with IKD, will also handle all the Twitter and Facebook live updates.

Beast Productions comes on board in an exciting time for IKD as they continue to build upon the continued success of the Pro Tour, which was introduced in 2009 by the Emu Plains based company. The Rotax Pro Tour is a national series that travels along the east coast of Australia, providing up and coming and experienced drivers to compete under an unique racing format that is successful in Europe – lots of track time and a professionally run program over six classes.

The Pro Tour also has a unique points system called the Rotax Rankings, which ranks drivers according to where they are in their class. The best of the best in each class at the end of the rankings period are then selected to represent Australia at the Rotax World Finals, which this year will be held at the Al Ain Raceway in the UAE on November 23-26 and oversee 216 drivers from 50 countries across five continents.

Ian Black, Managing Director of IKD is looking forward to establishing the association with Beast Productions and expanding the media exposure of the Rotax Pro Tour. “I’d like to work closely with Conor to expand our current media channels to help grow the recognition of our series throughout Australia,” said Black.

Conor McNally of Beast Productions is equally excited to be involved with the Rotax Pro Tour after seeing the action first hand at Rotax Pro Tour Canberra. “This is going to be really exciting for me,” he said. “Coming from a circuit racing background, karting is something new and interesting for me. Having witnessed how exciting the racing was during the first Pro Tour event of 2011/12 at Fairbairn Park, I came away excited and knowing this series has great potential to develop further. I can’t wait to get involved throughout 2012 and work with a great bunch of people at IKD.”

The next round of the 2011/12 Rotax Pro Tour is at Melbourne’s Todd Road Karting Complex on January 27-29, 2012. Preceding that will be the 2011 Rotax World Finals at the Al Ain Raceway in the UAE, where 11 drivers across four classes will represent Australia at the prestigious event held annually. The 11 drivers representing Australia are Tyler Greenbury, Joshua De Maio, David Sera and James Macken in Rotax Light, Joseph Mawson, Pierce Lehane and Michael Stewart in Junior Max, Jason Pringle, Damian Ward and Brendan Nelson in DD2 and Brent Coghlan in DD2 Masters.
