Energy Corse Australia will be pairing with its American cousin Energy USA West in an assault on the 17th Annual SuperNationals in Las Vegas, USA this week.

The Adam Graham-led team will pair up with former Indy 500 Champion Buddy Rice’s Energy USA West outfit to field four Australian drivers in the elite KZ2 category at the prestigious event held on a temporary circuit adjacent to the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino.

Energy Corse Australia regulars Kel Treseder, Jason Faint and Cameron Hill will be joined at the event by 2012 CIK Stars of Karting Series Pro Light Champion Adam Hughes aboard the Italian-made chassis.

While Treseder and Faint have both competed at the event previously in 2010 and 2012 respectively, this week will make the debut of Hill and Hughes in a CIK category in an International event. The opportunity is made possible for them courtesy of the scholarship provided to them by the Australian Karting Association for winning the 2012 Pro Junior (KFJ) and Pro Light (KF) titles respectively.

Graham has spent the past few months preparing for the team’s drivers to ensure they are provided with the best opportunity at success. This has included the transportation of their own equipment to the event.

“I’ve spent the past five months preparing for this event, making sure that our drivers have got the best possible chance at a good result,” said Graham.

“We’ve paired with Buddy Rice, who is the American importer of Energy karts, and our drivers will also be armed with some of the top engines from TM at the same time. All in all we’re set to take on the world’s best.

“Kel and Jason have both been there before and know what to expect, while it will be a new experience for Cameron and Adam. They were both Champions in the CIK Stars of Karting Series last year and have shown some great speed this year, I’m looking forward to seeing how they will adapt to the challenge.

“We arrived in America on the weekend before meeting up with the Energy USA guys today to begin preparing the karts and making sure all is in readiness for the week ahead.”

Practice begins on Wednesday before qualifying kicks into gear on Friday.
