Australia’s leading kart manufacturer and distributor, DPE Kart Technology, has partnered with Karting Australia to support the SP Tools Junior Sprockets program for 2016.

Junior Sprockets is an opportunity for youngsters between the ages of 6 and 14 years to get behind the wheel of a kart for the first time.

These days are designed to provide budding young karters with the thrill and excitement of kart racing in a safe and controlled environment while being educated by professional instructors and drivers.

Participants in the Junior Sprockets programs across the Country will get their first taste of the sport of karting aboard the Arrow and Kosmic chassis.

For DPE Kart Technology General Manager Bart Price, the opportunity to join the Junior Sprockets program is an exciting one, both for the sport as a whole and the brands they represent.

“As Australia’s oldest and largest kart manufacturer and distributor we’ve seen a lot of opportunities for our sport and the Junior Sprockets is something that the sport has needed for some time,” said Price.

“We’re very excited about being a part of the program so that we can help build our sport into the future.”

Also supporting the program will be the Paul Feeney Group through the supply of Vortex Mini-Rok engines and Bridgestone tyres.   Australian IAME importer Remo Racing will supply the IAME engines for use throughout the program.

The support of Reevu Motorsport and Xzuit will ensure the participants are well equipped with the highest quality in safety equipment.

The Reevu helmet is manufactured to AS/NZ1698 standards with the most developed technology and each helmet is hand assembled with perfectly integrated parts and padding.

Xzuit has been providing karting equipment for drivers and karting teams around the world for almost 20 years and will be the supplier of the racing suits to be worn by the Junior Sprockets participants.

ALM Sales, a long-time supporter of Australian karting, will be providing logistic and infrastructure support during the scheduled 2016 Junior Sprockets events.

“To have so many businesses supporting the Junior Sprockets program, led by our major partner SP Tools, is extremely pleasing,” said Karting Australia CEO Kelvin O’Reilly.

“We shared our vision of the program with the key members of the karting industry a couple of months back and welcomed their feedback as we really want to work closely with the industry to help build the sport into the future.

“Our focus throughout the second half of 2016 and into 2017 is very much on further developing the grass roots levels – starting with the opening three Junior Sprockets days next month.”

In addition to the Junior Sprockets ‘Beginners’ program, there are also a limited number of places on each Junior Sprockets Day where youngsters who have held a Karting Australia licence for less than two years can participate in an Intermediate program.  In the Intermediate program the participants use their own equipment while gaining advice on technique and driving skills from the professional instructors and drivers.

The SP Tools Junior Sprockets Program kicks off with events being held in Albury (July 6), Perth (July 13) and Adelaide (July 20) next month. Places are limited and filling up fast, register your child today by clicking here to secure their spot.
