DEALER TRADE LICENCE – INDUSTRY’S OPPORTUNITY TO GET IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT

The Australian Karting Association recently launched a new initiative for the karting industry – the Dealer Trade Licence (DTL).

This Licence was produced following a number of requests from the industry to make it easier to allow potential newcomers to karting an opportunity to sample the sport.

The DTL allows registered members of the industry to take potential karters to their club, which the dealer must be a member of, for a trial run behind the wheel of an entry-level kart in controlled conditions.

“For several years the industry has been screaming out to the AKA about how hard it is to allow potential new members to experience the sport – well here’s an easy way,” said National President Simon Whiting.

“We understand the industry can play a major part in helping to grow our sport. I believe the new Dealer Trade Licence is a great opportunity for the industry to allow new customers to get behind the wheel – after all you don’t buy a car before you drive it, do you?”

Drew Price, Managing Director of Drew Price Engineering, has been influential in assisting the AKA with this new incentive and he believes this is an opportunity for the industry to do their part in helping to grow the sport.

“For many years the industry has been critical of the AKA of not making it easy for newcomers to sample our sport – well now it’s here on a platter to not only help grow the sport but also your business,” said Price.

“I encourage every full-time kart shop to purchase one of these licences, it is an invaluable tool to help get more people in the sport and therefore sell more products.”

The DTL is available to dealers with a registered business name associated with karting and current operational business within the karting industry who comply to the guidelines that can be viewed by Clicking Here

The cost of the DTL is only $250 including GST. This will be invoiced initially on acceptance of the application by the AKA and then annually in approximately January of each year.
