Central Queenslander to chase TaG Heavy Titles with HDR Arrow Kart

Gladstone’s Brenton Simonds has joined the HDR Arrow Karts Team

After recently sharing their new Manufacturers’ Support Program and technical partnership, HDR Arrow Karts have today announced that Gladstone’s Brenton Simonds has joined the HDR Arrow Karts Team to contest the 2014 Australian CIK Stars of Karting Series TaG Heavy class and the 4 State Championships this includes.

Simonds, a twice recipient of Central Queensland Karter of the Year and regular Series and podium achiever returns to a full season of racing after crewing and mentoring drivers for an Arrow Karts Dealership in the 2013 CIK Stars of Karting Series. In previous seasons he has been a fierce Pro Clubman competitor racing against the Harrington Doyle Racing outfit in the CIK Yamaha Series and earlier Queensland State based Supercheap Auto Kart Series.

“When Simo said that he was committed to making a serious challenge on the 2014 Australian CIK Stars of Karting Series TaG Heavy class, I was keen to have him in our Team”, said HDR Arrow Karts Team Manager, Craig Doyle. “Simo has been a staunch rival of our team for a long while until now and his work ethic is 2nd to none that I have seen. Together with Brendan Nelson, they will make a formidable pairing in the class and will ensure that the HDR Arrow Karts will be well represented on and off the track. Simo has a tremendous rapport with people and a brilliant support base. It’s great that he approached and chose us to assist him realise his goals. He will be a great ambassador for the team and our brand partners.”

Having already begun testing his HDR Arrow X3 Kart in recent weeks, Simonds felt comfortable in the Kart and commented that, “It’s good to feel at home again, as I raced Arrow Karts for the first 5 years of my Karting career. In testing the X3, I have been largely impressed by the Arrow’s response to chassis changes and the great tuning options. I look forward to getting some more seat time in the next 12 weeks, as I prepare for the 2014 calendar of racing and the Australian CIK Stars of Karting Series.”

Simonds can’t wait to be racing the best Tag Heavy Karters in the country and representing HDR Arrow Karts and their corporate partners in the 2014 Australian CIK Stars of Karting Series. At this stage he also plans to contest the Australian and Eastern Seaboard State Open Championship Leopard Heavy crowns with the Manufacturer supported Team.

The first of five rounds of the 2014 Australian CIK Stars of Karting Series will explode into action under lights at the Ipswich Kart Track in Queensland on March 28/29, 2014. Visit www.starsofkarting.com.au for a full Series Calendar and more great information about the Series.
