22nd Annual Australasian Kart Titles at Numerkah, September 21/22

The annual Australasian Kart Titles will be going full steam ahead at the Numurkah Raceway on Saturday and Sunday, 21 – 22 September 2013.

Last year’s titles were moved to Mildura after the devastating flood event of March 2012 which saw the Numurkah Raceway inundated with floodwater and over one metre under water.  Now the track is better than ever and Karters, who come from all over Australia, are keen to get on and compete to win their class.

The event has been an established breeding ground for young Karters, providing the opportunity to pit themselves against their peers and prepare for National and State championship challenges.  All junior classes will again feature at this meeting including; Rookies, Midgets, Junior National, Junior Clubman and Junior Max.  With support from the Moira Shire Council and Empire Trade Exchange, trophies will be presented to fifth place for all junior classes.

Saturday morning will see the high stakes qualifying sessions to determine grid positions for the weekends racing.  On Sunday 20 lap “winner takes all” final will decide the Australasian champion of each class.

The sprint karts are powered from 9hp up to 29hp engines with some of them reaching speeds in excess of 95kph on the short Empire Trade straightaway.  Entry is free and spectators are sure to enjoy this action packed event.

The Numurkah Raceway is located on the Numurkah-Katamatite Road (C361) and only a short 3km east of the Numurkah Hospital.  It’s not hard to find, there’s plenty of parking,  full canteen facilities and it’s free for spectators.  If you’re looking to take the kids out on the weekend, be sure not to miss it.
